Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation

Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills

Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Training (BALOO)* is an introduction to the Cub Scout outdoor program for leaders. BALOO training consists of the essentials of BSA’s Cub Scout level camping program activities, required skills, and policies regarding outdoor activities. Its goal is to help Cub Scout Leaders provide a safe environment in which Cub Scouts can have positive outdoor experiences.

*Completion of the online pre-requisite component and leader specific training are required, prior to taking this overnight, hands-on segment. Bring a copy of your certificate with you.

ITOLS is a hands-on event for adult scout leaders that will help you master basic camping skills required for Scouts Tenderfoot to First Class. Learn how to set up camp, cook outdoor, work with ropes and with woods tools, plan campfire programs, map reading and compass skills, hiking and packing techniques, nature identification and outdoor ethics.

Prerequisite: Complete the online portion of your Leader Specific Training prior to this event. Bring your certificate to the training session!
